Dianne joined Gorham & Gorham in 2000 and was named a partner of the firm in 2004. From 2006 to 2011 Dianne was on “sabbatical” in Texas, where she served as General Counsel to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Upon her return to Rhode Island, she again joined her colleagues at Gorham & Gorham, Inc.
Dianne received her undergraduate BS degree from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Communications. Dianne was awarded her Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol as a member of the first graduating class in 1996, with honors in contracts and professional responsibility. Dianne’s practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation, family law, and municipal law. She serves as counsel to the Scituate Plan Commission.
As assistant solicitor for the towns of Scituate and Coventry, Dianne prosecutes criminal cases in the 3rd Division District Court. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and in the United States District Court for Rhode Island. She is currently an inactive member of the Texas bar. An active participant in community service, Dianne was the 2005 and 2014 recipient of the RI Bar Association’s Pro Bono Publico award for her work on behalf of indigent clients referred by the Volunteer Lawyer Program. From 2003 to 2006 Dianne served as President of the Board of Directors of VSA arts of Rhode Island, a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities in the arts to people with disabilities. Dianne served as President of the VSA arts of Texas from 2008 to 2011.
